About Massage:

Swedish massage uses a variety of techniques to increase blood flow.  Tight muscles restrict blood flow and trap toxins within them. These toxins irritate local nerve endings and cause pain and tension.  Massage therapy, through blood flow, removes these toxins and allows the muscle to relax. The manual manipulation of muscles and other soft tissues can break up adhesions and release painful trigger points.

Trigger points are hypersensitive points in a muscle causing tension, decreased range of motion, local and referred pain that travels away from the source. Trigger points in muscles are often the source of headaches. Not to be forgotten, massage therapy is also very effective for the simple relaxation of the mind and body, enhancing overall health by reducing stress responses in the body.

About Cranial Sacral Therapy:

Cranial Sacral therapy is a light touch therapy performed with the patient fully dressed.  This treatment can release restrictions within the body due to direct injury or chronic conditions as well as address the resulting compensations in other areas.

Cranial Sacral therapy can help to restore a patient to a calmer, natural mental state.  It can decrease pain and tension, and is a great alternative for those who have chronic pain from nerve or muscle conditions as it is performed with a very light touch and therefore less likely to exacerbate the pain of the condition. Jackie can use cranial sacral therapy exclusively as a treatment or incorporate it into a massage treatment.

The Clinic:

The clinic is a tranquil office space and treatment room in a home setting. The office space has a waiting area and a bathroom for patient use.

The treatment room is decorated in a relaxing country motif with a window that looks out into a peaceful backyard filled with fruit trees. While this window infuses the treatment room with natural light and provides the room with the feeling of spaciousness, a blind can be drawn to afford an increased sense of privacy.

An electric massage table allows adjustments to the table height to accommodate patients who have difficulties with mobility and a variety of relaxing songs to help induce relaxation plays during treatment.

There are 2 parking spaces in the driveway in the gravel to the left.

  • Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) / Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP):  Clinic bills DVA / RCMP directly once patient is authorized.  Patient does not pay.
  • ICBC:  The Clinic does not bill ICBC. Patient pays and seeks own reimbursement. It is suggested that the patient discuss treatment coverage with ICBC before making an appointment to ensure reimbursement of the covered portion of the treatment.
  • MSP: The Clinic does not bill MSP. Patient pays and clinic completes online form for patient’s reimbursement.
  • WCB: The Clinic does not bill WCB. Please ask WCB for alternatives with opted-out  massage practitioners.
